Gina Coats wears a lot of hats in her role as a Project Manager for sister companies, Connelly Plumbing and Connelly Mechanical, based in Springfield, MO. That means that in addition to her responsibilities as a project manager, she also oversees much of the accounting, and payrolls for both of the companies.
In fact, she says her role is more like a general manager at Connelly Plumbing, a plumbing contractor with 43 employees that has been in business for 70 years and Connelly Mechanical, which does sheet metal and HVAC contracting and has 18 employees.
Easy to use
Coats has been a JOBPOWER customer since 1995. When she had been with Connelly for less than six months, a friend who worked for a general contractor suggested she should try out the software.
Setting up JOBPOWER construction accounting software was such a breeze that Coats says she never felt she had to study the manual. She had already worked through a demo and played with the software for a few weeks, which made it easy for her to go from starting to operational. “It was literally that simple and yet comprehensive.”
“It’s a really good stand-alone accounting program which is what I really needed it for, and it does project management, job costing.” Coats says she also loves the included reports as well as the ability to tailor reports that fit her specific needs.
Support and service that literally almost never sleeps
Even though the JOBPOWER’s ease of use is a big reason that Coats is a strong booster of the program, she says the company’s service is the primary reason she’s been so loyal. “They are easy to talk to. They are willing to stop and help and answer any questions that I have.”
She describes a time when, faced with a one-time glitch that locked her out of the program at a crucial time when bills were due, she called the company for help and the help desk staff stayed until late and returned at dawn the next morning to resolve her issue. By 10AM, they’d solved the problem, freeing Coats to go ahead with the company payroll and other important bills.
Reliable and responsive
“They’ve been able to think like a contractor,” Coats says. “I’ve been able to use virtually every feature that JOBPOWER offers: project management, payroll, accounting. It has everything I want to do. Any time I’ve ever had a question, they’ve been able to answer it. They listen to suggestions and add those to upcoming features that makes it easier to do our job.”
Having been a loyal customer for so long, Coats has seen many changes to JOBPOWER over the years. “The program has continued to grow. Every year they’re coming out with more features, different configurations how you search for information or reports that are generated. They’ve not stayed static in their own business. They have upgraded and made the improvements.”
